December 2015
This December we traveled to Camp Barton in Trumansburg, NY. We worked all day in our annual wood cutting service project, totaling over 140 hours of service to the camp. The patrols competed in a dutch oven cooking completion. Special thanks to our guest judges Mr. Black, Mr. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Blakely, and Mr. Hinrichsen. We finished the day with a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner complete with deep-fried turkey, pie and ice cream. Thank you to everyone that helped make this campout a success!

For our November campout we traveled to the United States Military Academy at West Point. We visited Michie Stadium to see Army take on Tulane. The Black Knights entered the field carrying the American and French flags, showing their support after the attacks in Paris on Friday night. Challenger, a bald eagle trained to free fly into sporting events, took the field during halftime flying over an American flag that spanned the entire field. Challenger is named in honor of the crew of the space shuttle, and has been making educational appearances throughout the country since 1993.

This month we traveled back to Buck Farm to hold our shooting sports campout. We were happy to be back and to carry on the legacy of our dear friend Don Walker who passed away in May 2014. Buck Farm is owned by Don's family and this was always his favorite campout. Everyone had a great time at both the archery range and the rifle range. We would like to thank all who made this campout possible, especially Mr. Pipher, Mr. Sullivan, and Mr. Chan, our archery range officers, Mr. Carter, our rifle range safety officer, and Mr. Hinrichsen, Will Hinrichsen, and Jeremy Sansone, our rifle instructors.
